Erin Kinsey Releases Debut Single “Drunk Too”

Nashville, TN – April 23, 2021 – Country newcomer Erin Kinsey releases her debut single today, "Drunk Too" written by Kinsey, Danielle Blakey and Ava Suppelsa. Erin’s impromptu performance of “Drunk Too” garnered more than half a million views on TikTok last month. While she was thrilled, it was the number of shares and all the comments that inspired her to record the song and release it as her debut single, months ahead of schedule.

Kinsey explains the song’s storyline was developed after a conversation with someone very close to her not long before she walked into a writing room. After listening to a few lyrics, her co-writers, Blakely and Suppelsa immediately gravitated to the idea. The song is about someone whose love interest shares their feelings, only to retract them the next day, stating they were drunk. The character in the song is embarrassed that they had reciprocated those feelings, so they prefer to also say they were “Drunk Too” instead of admitting the sobering truth.

“I love this song and so do my social media followers,” said Erin Kinsey. “It was their reaction on social media that pushed me to release this song as my first single, ahead of schedule. People can relate to the song’s message that we all have said things we wish we could take back. It’s crazy that sometimes telling the truth is more embarrassing than having a cop-out.”

Drunk Too” is released on the heels of her success with the incredibly moving song, PINK,” that she helped pen along with Jodi Marr and Victoria Shaw, which has now become the anthem for Susan G. Komen. “PINK” features five legendary artists on the track from country, pop, and R&B -- Dolly Parton, Monica, Jordin Sparks, Rita Wilson, and Sara Evans and was released by Brighter Day Records in October 2020.

“Drunk Too” is available now on Apple Music, Spotify, Pandora, and more; with the music video available on her YouTube Channel.

Fans can catch Erin Kinsey at an upcoming writers' round at The Listening Room Cafe on May 4th at 6:00pm CST. For more information, please visit www.erinkinsey.com.
